Recap for my earnings in June

My first month has passed, and it's time to take a look back at my residual income for June. I started the challenge on June 7th, so I missed a full week of earnings. Since I started the challenge, I have found 11 different ways to earn residual income online and only 2 have paid so far. Many of these I came across towards the end of the month so they need time to work.

I have already found one dud (ePinions), and I am still evaluating the others. The Exmainer and eHow are the only two I made money on and I will continue to work hard at posting articles to these sites.

The rest of the residual income opportunities I will continue to evaluate and eliminate the ones that aren't worth my time. I'm always in search of new residual opportunities, so I will replace the new ones with the ones I get rid of. Here is a breakdown of my June earnings:

eHow: $2.44 (30 articles)
The Examiner: $13.64 (8 articles)
Total: $17.49

Average Daily Earnings: $.73

I'm a little disappointed with my eHow earnings. With 30 articles I thought I would have at least made $10-$15 for the month. Sure it's missing 6 days, but it is obvious that would have made little difference. Basically, I made $0.08 per article for the month. From what I gather, most writers on eHow average $.25-$.50 per article per month. To keep my income diversified, I will continue to write articles for eHow but mainly on trading the stock market as those were some of my best producers.

On the flip side, The Examiner has been a gold mine and I love writing for this site. Since they pay based on page views, it is very easy to earn a residual income from this site. They even update the earnings in what seems like real time. I'm still not sure how much an article averages daily, but I will continue to monitor my earnings and post about this soon. Here is a screenshot of my June earnings at The Examiner.

More importantly, The Examiner helped me stay way ahead of my daily profit goals to eventually make it to $100 per day in residual income. I averaged $.73 per day for the month of June, and I only needed to average $.13 per day. This will only get harder as the months progress so I need to stay focused and continue to post a lot of articles.

The Examiner has obviously surpassed my daily eHow earnings and it will be the main driver of The Residual Income Challenge. Going forward, I think Xomba has some potential for income, and as my blog matures Google Adsense and Kontera Ads should help me meet my daily goals.

    Hey Matt,

I like your site. A good challenge is always fun to watch.

I'm going to go back through your older posts but I am guessing your eHow articles aren't very old? While you will make money from the start it usually takes a month or two for the earnings to really pick up.

Good luck, looks like you are exceeding your goals already!

    Hi Carrie,
You're right the majority of my eHow articles are just over a month old, so hopefully my earnings will start to pick up. So far so good on my income challenge. It's hard work, but a lot of fun. I'll keep an eye on your site, hopefully you can eventually work from home. Good luck!

    Hey Daniel,
I wish you the best on your goal. The Examiner definitely seems like the way to go. I'm going to check out Bukisa too, it looks like you've had decent results writing for them.

Great earnings on examiner, especailly with so few articles! I've heard mixed reviews in regard to them so I have been hesitant in joining them.

You may want to check out today.com and Bright Hub as well. I write for both and so far Bright Hub has been awesome. I just started with Today so I can't really give a quality opinion yet but at first glance it seems to be a good earner. I have a blog dedicated to helping writers and photographers make money online that may help you find some more decent markets. It's called the online paycheck

I'm curious which sites you have dismissed besides epinions. Any chance you could share that info?

    Thanks
    Damien
