October Earnings:
The fifth month for The Residual Income Challenge failed to meet the daily profit goal, but it was way ahead of expectations in other respects. I needed to average $3.79 per day in residual income to stay on pace, but I only earned $2.36 per day. That's a difference of a $1.43 per day, or $44.33 for the month.
October Vs. September
For the month of October, I earned $73.14. My earnings were just a little bit higher than September's earnings of $66.08. This ends my two month streak of declining month by month earnings. In fact, my residual income from October is my highest ever which surpassed my previous record of $70.48 that I earned in August.
Current Residual Income Opportunities
This month I added two new residual income opportunities, which brings the total to 16 ways of making residual income online.
Residual Income from 8 Sources
Despite the fact that my earnings came in well below my daily profit goal, there were still two very encouraging signs. First, my blog has really started to gain readers and in the last two weeks of the month and has been earning a little residual income on a daily basis. On top of that, out of the 16 ways of earning money online, 8 of them produced residual income for the month of October. Another record for my Residual Income Challenge! eHow and The Examiner continue to lead as my best income producers.
Here is a breakdown of my October earnings:
The Examiner: $54.98 (81 Articles)
eHow: $15.26 (33 Articles)
InfoBarrel: $2.06 (1 Article)
Residual Income Challenge Blog: $.39
Chitika Ads: $0.27
Kontera Ads: $0.09
RedGage: $0.06 (20 Uploads)
FireHow: $0.03 (1 Article)
Total: $73.14
Still Behind on the Pace
Diversifying my residual income is really starting to pay off, but I am still well behind the pace of The Residual Income Challenge. Examiner has picked up a little bit as I only wrote 17 new articles this month and my earnings increased to $54.98 from $43.94 in September.
November Goal
November may be a make or break month for my current plan for The Residual Income Challenge. I need to earn an average of $5.47 per day to get back on pace. At this point, I plan to continue to write a lot of Examiner and eHow articles while diversifying at other sites to continue to build a strong residual income base.
I need a huge jump in earnings at The Examiner or a jump in earnings from my Residual Income blog to have a chance of making my daily profit goal for November. Here is a screenshot of The Residual Income Challenge stats to close out the month of October.
Daily Earnings Chart
Here is a chart of my daily earnings in October. For once, it doesn't resemble the prior months as much. This time around the earnings are fairly steady, and don't have huge spikes towards the middle of the month. It's also noteworthy that my daily earnings line is hovering near the $2.00 level with fewer and fewer dips into the $1 range. Unfortunately, I had two days this month that dipped below the $1 level due to either eHow or The Examiner not updating earnings. For that reason, it explains the importance of diversification.
Goals for November
In November, I plan to once again write as many articles as time allows. Most of my writing time will be spend on eHow and The Examiner, but I need to continue to develop a base at other sites such as InfoBarrel, FireHow, and LifeTips. I didn't earn a penny this month from Xomba, but I will continue to post Xomblurbs of my new articles. If earnings this month come in way below the $5.47 daily profit goal, I will seriously need to consider revising my challenge. I also plan to search for new residual income opportunities that will help me meet my goals.

Hi, Matt--interesting, as always, to see how you're doing.
Have you tried Factoidz yet (didn't see it in here). I'm doing fairly well for the 3 weeks I've been there. Here's a link to join (yes, it's a referral link, if you don't mind signing up under me: http://factoidz.com/create-account.php?refer=5M6536).
Keep up the good work--you're inspiring me! One question: do you still think eHow is worth it in spite of the article sweeps?
Thanks! Glad to see you're still following along. I haven't tried Factoidz yet, I will definitely try it out and give you the referral. What kind of earnings are you seeing per Factoid? Despite the article sweeps I definitely think eHow is still worth it. I've only lost 1 article to these sweeps since April so it has hardly affected me.
